Northern Virginia is considered part of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Few areas in the world can match the diversity or history of this area. Minutes from our Nation’s Capital, its location in one of our country’s most historic and culturally rich foundations makes living in the Northern Virginia community as unique an experience as one will ever find. As for our military bases, Fort Belvoir resides in Fairfax County off of what we call the Route 1 corridor. The areas and zip codes in closest proximity to Fort Belvoir are Lorton (22079), Springfield (zip codes 22153, 22152), Alexandria (22306, 22308, 22309, 22310 and 22315 - note 22315 is also known as Kingstowne), Burke (22015) and Fairfax Station (22309). That said, some of our military personnel stationed on Fort Belvoir choose to purchase a home in Woodbridge, which is Prince William County. The housing prices in Woodbridge are lower making them more affordable, however, commute time is increased. Woodbridge zip codes are 22191, 22192 and 22193 which includes Lake Ridge. We will do whatever we can to make your PCS move as seamless a move as possible. Please note, if your commute will be to The Pentagon, any of the zip codes listed for Fort Belvoir will also work for The Pentagon. There are VRE Stations (Virginia Rail Express) throughout these zip codes that will take you to Crystal City and then to The Pentagon by shuttle.
As far as market conditions are concerned, there is no better time to purchase a home in this area than now. Bolstered by the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative, nearly 20,000 jobs are moving to Fort Belvoir and Quantico MCB. We have already begun to see the influx of military personnel, consultants and other industry-specific professionals migrating to the local area and we expect this influx to continue through 2012. Purchasing a home now will afford the homebuyer leverage to sell in the future when demand and prices are expected to increase.
