At first glance, it may not seem like there’s much correlation between a family board game like Monopoly® and a real estate team like Ron Kowalski & Susan Borrelli. Of course, they are both centered around real estate, but there’s much more to it than that.
First of all, Monopoly is a family-oriented game, and both Ron & Susan are highly committed to investing in the future of their families. Ron is a father of two who enjoys nothing more than spending quality time with his wife, Kristy, and their two children, Alex and Connor. Whether it’s an evening of games and “playtime” or a day on their boat, tooling around Chesapeake Bay, they are always making the most of life together. Susan is also focused on family, with her son Matthew being the most important part of her life. There is also a direct connection between, Ron and the game. When he worked for the marketing firm, Frankel & Co., he spearheaded the highly successful Monopoly promotion for McDonalds. As a result, he was courted by Hasbro Toys, where he became Director of Promotions. When Ron began his career in real estate, he took his love for the classic board game to a new level. What started as a fun marketing idea quickly blossomed into something truly special. Ron is seen in parades every Fourth of July in his Monopoly-themed car and with his giant-sized game board. He also sponsors an annual Monopoly tournament to benefit the Lorton Arts Foundation.

Though her career doesn’t have as direct a connection to Monopoly, Susan also has an extremely strong business background and personal investment in the Lorton community. At Ingram Micro, she worked her way up from an entry-level sales position to Director of Sales for the East Coast Enterprise Systems Division. Susan held several other high-profile sales and management positions with several other leading technology corporations. With her determined personality and personable approach, she knew how to make all the right moves and always found success anywhere she went. When Susan became a real estate professional, she chose to focus on Lorton because it meant so much to her and her family. “To me, it’s exciting to be such an integral part of the community and help others enjoy this wonderful lifestyle,” she says.
